Terms of Service

They are between you — the buyer — and InBrief, the brand this site sells under. Only verified public identity details are stated here. Questions about the seller or these terms can be sent to the contact address below.

A website template, sold as digital source code. Delivery is access to a private GitHub repository containing that code, granted to a GitHub account you name after payment.

This is a one-off purchase of software, not a subscription and not a hosted service. Nothing is being run on your behalf, and there is no uptime commitment, because there is nothing here for us to keep up.

Every tier includes the same complete product — the full source code, the full frontend and the full admin dashboard. No feature is withheld from a cheaper tier. What differs between tiers is the licence you hold and, in the case of Business + Setup, that we carry out the initial deployment with you.

Business + Setup includes a defined initial-deployment service. What that service covers, and what it explicitly does not, is published in full on the product page and forms part of these terms for anyone who buys that tier. Work outside that scope is quoted separately and is not owed under this purchase.

Payment is taken by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record. That means your contract for the payment itself is with Paddle: Paddle is the seller on your receipt, Paddle appears on your card or bank statement, and Paddle calculates, collects and remits any sales tax or VAT due where you are.

Prices are shown in US dollars. The total shown at checkout is the total charged, tax included. We never see or store your card details — see the privacy policy for exactly what does reach us.

Paddle's own terms and privacy notice apply to the payment. Nothing here overrides them.

There is no account to create and no password to remember on this site. Once Paddle confirms your payment, an order is recorded and a private claim link is issued. That link is shown on the page you land on immediately after paying, and is also emailed to the address held by Paddle for you.

Opening the claim link and giving your GitHub username adds you to the private repository as a read-only collaborator. Read-only is deliberate: you can download or clone a private copy and pull included updates. You may modify and use that copy commercially only within the licence you purchased; repository access does not transfer copyright or grant resale or redistribution rights.

The claim link is the key to your purchase. Anyone holding it can claim the repository access you paid for, so treat it the way you would treat a password: keep it, and do not post it anywhere. If you lose it, write to us from the address you bought with.

Email is the convenient route to your purchase, never the only one. If the email never arrives, the order page reached from the claim link still holds everything you need.

What you may and may not do with the source code is set out in the licence, which is incorporated into these terms by reference and forms part of them. If the two ever appear to conflict about the scope of your rights in the code, the licence is the one that decides.

In short: you get the complete source code and a perpetual right to use and modify it within the scope of the licence you bought. You receive a private copy of the complete source code and control your deployed website. InBrief remains the original code owner and copyright holder of the reusable template; your copy is licensed to you, not transferred or sold for redistribution. You may not resell or redistribute the reusable source code.

There are two purchasable licences. A business licence covers one production website for one business or brand — Business and Business + Setup both carry it, because the setup tier buys our time rather than wider rights. An agency licence covers up to 5 separate client production websites, for people building for other businesses. Selling a finished client website is allowed. Selling the underlying reusable template is not.

Anything beyond those two — redistribution, resale of the reusable template, white-label distribution, sublicensing, marketplace listing, or more client websites than your licence covers — requires a separate written licence from us and is not granted by this purchase.

The version of the licence that applies to you is the version recorded against your order at the moment you paid, not whatever this page says later.

You deploy and operate the website. That means the following are yours, in your own name, at your own cost, and under your own agreements with the providers concerned:

Every tier includes one month of email support and six months of template updates from the purchase date. Included updates are new features, improvements and bug fixes released during those six months. Continued support or later updates may be offered as an optional paid renewal.

Not renewing takes away neither your purchased copy nor your perpetual licence. The one-month support entitlement ends after one month, and the included update entitlement ends after six months; you may keep using the version already delivered within your licence.

The template is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind beyond what the law requires and does not allow to be excluded. In particular there is no promise that it is free of defects, that it will run without interruption, that it will suit a purpose you have in mind, or that it will keep working unchanged as the platforms it depends on change.

The template depends on open-source software and on third-party platforms — Next.js, React, Cloudflare, GitHub and others. Those are not ours, they change on their own schedule, and their behaviour is not something we can warrant.

This is why the live demo exists, and why the scope of every tier is published in full before you buy: look at the real thing first.

Our total liability to you, for everything arising out of your purchase and your use of the template taken together, is capped at the amount you actually paid for it.

We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost or corrupted data, or any indirect or consequential loss, however it arises.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law does not permit to be excluded — including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Your licence ends only as the licence document describes: material breach that is not put right within 30 days of written notice. Repository access can be withdrawn at the same time.

Repository access is also withdrawn if the payment behind it is reversed — a refund or a chargeback. A reversed payment that left the code in place would simply be a free copy.

Whatever happens, the content you wrote and the code you wrote yourself remain yours.

These terms carry a version number and an effective date, both shown at the top of this page. When the substance changes, the version is raised and the new date is published here.

Changes are not retroactive. The version recorded against your order at the moment you paid is the version that governs your purchase, and it is recorded precisely so a later edit cannot be presented as what you agreed to.

No governing law or exclusive court is stated without a verified jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights or remedies under any law that applies to you.
